This residence is located in the prestigious Madison Club on a long narrow lot atop a hill overlooking the Santa Rosa Mountains. The perimeter of the property is surrounded by one of the most active parts of the club and clubhouse. In response, the residence is designed to take it's occupants on a journey away from the bustle of the club, into an abstraction of a space in the mountains aimed to capture the feeling of solitude found in nature. This experience is created using large masses built with rocks from the surrounding landscape to block sounds and views.
